Addicted to Words.

 

The tapestry of my life has been woven with words; words that I’ve read and words that I’ve written. This litany of letters is my first love, my last, my passion and my addiction.

 

I have enjoyed a varied life of different careers. I attended university in Natal before being bitten by the travel bug. The chronic case of wanderlust that ensued led me to live and work in far-flung locales, usually where the sun was shining. I successfully evaded the law on most occasions. Despite this nomadic existence I always stayed in touch with my love of letters; missives home and journals to myself kept the words alive. My second love is the sea and, using a hard earned Yachtmaster license, I pursued a career delivering sailing vessels across oceans and managing some of the biggest super yachts afloat. In the last year I have brought my knowledge, creativity and experience home to Cape Town where I help others sell their stories while working on my own.

 

I bring a diverse skill set to bear on any task that I undertake. My attention to detail borders on the obsessive and I am a stickler for accuracy. Discipline and dependability are qualities on which I pride myself and commitments that I make are just that; commitments. I also play well with others! I have experience in creative conceptualisation, headline and body copy writing. Web content with search engine optimisation (SEO), brochure and press release copy as well as proofreading and editing are other services that I offer. I have worked on through-the-line campaigns and currently freelance for a Johannesburg and Cape Town based advertising agency. I am looking for new projects into which I can sink my metaphorical teeth…between cups of good coffee and games of Scrabble.
